2019 NigerHeritage Conferences (Niamey, Agadez)

Support for the NigerHeritage projects grows, as well-attended public conferences in Niamey and Agadez attest.

As plans for several museums congeal, two public conferences were held in Niger in 2019, while the expedition team was in residence. The first was held in the capital, Niamey and the second in the auditorium of Agadez University in the large northern district of the country. Ministry officials, university faculty, and other professionals and cultural experts discussed the plans and opportunities, with feedback and discussion engaging the audience and reports and interviews appearing on local and international news networks. Over 150 students and community members attended the Agadez conference.
